Meanwhile, Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s Mercedes issue on lap 46 led to a regular safety car, prolonging the intervention due to track layout constraints. The decision raised speculation of reviving Max Verstappen’s dominance in the race. Ultimately, the use of a safety car added about 14 minutes and eight laps to the race procedure.
